Papyrus 66 (𝒫66) Manuscript Replica | John 7:45–52 & 7:52–8:16 | Front & Back Acrylic Display
Papyrus 66 (𝒫66) is one of the most significant early manuscripts of the Gospel of John, commonly dated to the third to fourth century. As one of the earliest substantial witnesses to John’s Gospel, it provides critical insight into the transmission of the New Testament text within the first generations of the early Church.
This particular leaf preserves portions of John 7:45–52 on one side and John 7:52–8:16 on the other. The passage captures the growing tension surrounding Jesus’ identity, including the questioning of the Pharisees and the divided responses to His teaching. The continuation into John 8 includes the transition into one of the most discussed textual sections in the New Testament, offering important context for understanding how this portion of John’s Gospel was transmitted in early manuscripts.
Papyrus 66 is generally associated with the Alexandrian text tradition and is widely regarded as a highly valuable witness to the early text of John. The manuscript is currently housed in the Bibliotheca Bodmeriana as part of the Bodmer Papyri collection.
This museum-quality facsimile is produced through an intensive replication process focused on historical fidelity rather than artistic reinterpretation. Each replica is carefully developed using high-resolution manuscript photography, with close attention to original scale, Greek letterforms, line spacing, layout, and the natural characteristics of papyrus.
The manuscript is presented in an 8×10 screw-down acrylic display, allowing both sides of the leaf to remain fully visible. This format emphasizes the codex structure of early Christian manuscripts and provides a clean, durable presentation suitable for study, teaching, or display. You can choose to have this piece with or without a stand. The stand is NOT included unless you select it. The acrylic stand will have the corresponding text on it.
