Papyrus 9 (𝒫9), also known as Oxyrhynchus Papyrus 402, is an early manuscript of the First Epistle of John dating to the early third century. Discovered in Oxyrhynchus, Egypt by Bernard Grenfell and Arthur Hunt, the fragment provides an early witness to the transmission of Johannine writings within the first centuries of the Church.

The surviving leaf preserves portions of 1 John 4:11–12 and 4:14–17, passages centered on the themes of divine love and the confession of Jesus as Savior. Written in a single column per page, the manuscript reflects the codex format used by many early Christian communities as the New Testament circulated in handwritten form.

Papyrus 9 is notable for its irregular handwriting and textual features, which offer scholars insight into the practical realities of manuscript copying in antiquity. Today the fragment is housed at the Houghton Library at Harvard University, where it remains part of the collection of Oxyrhynchus papyri.

This museum-quality facsimile is created through a careful replication process focused on historical accuracy. Particular attention is given to manuscript scale, Greek letterforms, line spacing, and layout, resulting in a reproduction that closely reflects the visual character of the original papyrus fragment.

The manuscript is presented in a 4 x 6 Screw Down Acrylic frame, providing a clear and restrained display that emphasizes the artifact itself. The piece is ideal for collectors of early Christian manuscripts, students of Johannine theology, educators, and those interested in the history of the New Testament.
