Papyrus 52 (𝒫52), also known as the John Rylands Papyrus, is an early second-century Greek manuscript fragment of the Gospel of John, written on papyrus and preserved on both sides of a single leaf. The surviving text contains portions of John 18:31–33 on one side and John 18:37–38 on the other, recording part of the exchange between Jesus and Pontius Pilate. Dated by paleographic analysis to approximately AD 125–150, this manuscript is widely regarded as one of the earliest extant witnesses to a New Testament writing and a foundational artifact of early Christianity and biblical history.

This museum-quality facsimile is designed as both Bible manuscript art and a historically informed biblical artifact display. It is produced through an intensive, multi-week process focused on faithfully replicating the original P52 manuscript. Careful attention is given to scale, layout, line spacing, Greek letterforms, and material appearance, resulting in a reproduction that closely mirrors the visual character of the ancient papyrus fragment while remaining suitable for modern study and display.

The manuscript replica is housed in a premium, crystal-clear plexiglass protective sleeve designed to safeguard the piece while allowing close visual inspection. Similar in concept to high-end archival card holders, this rigid display case fully encloses the manuscript replica while remaining easy to handle and display. The sleeve can be opened by the owner, allowing for careful removal or repositioning if desired.

The protective case features an anti-glare finish to reduce harsh reflections while preserving clarity, along with a secure magnetic closure that helps protect against dust, humidity, spills, and everyday handling. The rigid construction resists bending or warping, making it well suited for long-term preservation and display. The smooth edges and upright-standing design allow the manuscript to be displayed on shelves, desks, or within larger display arrangements.

This presentation emphasizes the material reality of Papyrus 52 as a small, fragile fragment—inviting engagement with the manuscript as a historical object rather than traditional framed wall art. It is ideal for collectors of early biblical materials, students of New Testament history, apologetics enthusiasts, or anyone interested in the physical transmission of Scripture. It also makes a thoughtful and unique Christian gift for pastors, scholars, educators, or serious students of the Bible.
